I was delighted to discover this morning an article about Les Digitales de Porrentruy and our concert on Saturday evening. The newspaper captures quite beautifully what we are seeking to achieve with SISMIC: “to make sounds perceptible through sight.”Together with Laurent Steulet, I am developing this project at the intersection of music, image, light, gesture, and storytelling. Laurent is primarily focusing on the musical dimension and the tangible instrument, while I am working on the scenography, musical concepts, imagery, and the entire lore of the SISMIC universe: gradually building a world, its codes, images, and dramaturgy. The objects manipulated on our table become sounds and images, while our gestures are projected live in front of the audience. Our aim is to gradually move beyond the concert format and transform SISMIC into a fully-fledged audiovisual and stage experience. This evening at Les Digitales represents an important milestone for SISMIC Project. Many thanks to the Les Digitales team, Muzak, the volunteers, the audience, Le Quotidien Jurassien, and Claude-Alain Fauser for the photograph. The world of SISMIC is beginning to take shape.
